Students interested in this service learning opportunity will help be able to give back to the community by helping at the food bank and emergency shelters. Nearly 1 in 7, or 15% of Utah children 5 years old and younger go hungry every day. By volunteering at a food bank, students have the opportunity to help provide the next meal one of these children would otherwise go without.
Students will need to cover 2-3 hour shifts once a week between the hours of 9am-5pm Mon-Thursday. Duties include different jobs in the food pantry and food bank. Also, help is needed from 11am-2pm with the Grocery Rescue Truck. Duties include assisting driver pick up food from different locations and deliver back to the food bank.
